

Cupro is a semi-synthetic fibre made from cotton linter, the fine fibres that surround cotton seeds. Although derived from a natural source, the cellulose is dissolved and regenerated through a chemical process, meaning cupro is not considered a natural fibre. It is valued for its smooth handle, fluid drape and breathability, making it a popular alternative to silk for linings and lightweight garments. Its environmental impact depends largely on how manufacturing chemicals are managed.
