Rib knit is a knitted construction characterised by raised vertical ribs and significant stretch. The ribs can be fine or broad, but the defining feature is the alternating raised and recessed structure running vertically through the fabric. It is commonly used for fitted garments, cuffs, necklines and other areas where elasticity is useful.
